Biswo Ulak has crafted an illustrious career path, characterized by a diverse educational background and extensive tenure in various sectors. He has garnered substantial experience from local governments, including the Office of the Auditor General and the Panchayat and Local Development Ministry, as well as in international development agencies such as SATA (SDC), UKAid, EUD, USAID, and UN Agencies, etc.

He has also worked in both national and international private sectors extencively. His educational journey, transitioning from a diploma in business administration and commerce to postgraduate studies in Human Resources Studies, and ultimately achieving a master’s degree in political science, stands as a testament to his unwavering commitment to multidisciplinary learning. Over a career spanning four decades, he has exhibited a profound dedication to nurturing growth guided by the principle of development through peace and managing funds using Project Cycle Management tools.

His commitment is particularly instrumental in his involvement in peace-building efforts during Nepal’s decade-long armed conflict. His strategic acumen and adherence to principles such as rights-based approaches, teamwork, cultural sensitivity, diversity appreciation, do-no-harm, and conflict resolution underscore his holistic approach to development endeavors.  He prioritizes diverse voices and perspectives, recognizing their importance in comprehensive decision-making processes. He adeptly integrates factors such as risk analysis, market demand, and organizational compliance to optimize resource utilization, thereby emphasizing the value of inclusivity and efficiency in developmental initiatives.

Since 1997, he has been involved in local philanthropy aimed at fostering community development. Moreover, from 2017 onwards, he has been a fervent advocate of cultural peace walks, collaborating with a loose forum of “Global Cultural Peace Walk.” Currently, he serves in advisory capacities for several local NGOs, notably a President of Bhrikuti Memorial Academy (https://bma.org.np), dedicated to learning, research, and providing strategic guidance and proposal writing for various projects. His scholarly endeavors have earned him international acclaim, with articles on culture and tourism being published in English-language journals. Additionally, he has made significant contributions to national publications in Nepali-language, covering a wide range of subjects such as local histories, cultures, tourism, and development.
